WALT use precise nouns to add detail to our reader.

This week in writing we have been using precise nouns to make our writing more specific for the reader.

We took a paragraph and changed the nouns from general nouns to precise nouns.

Here is an example.

In the weekend I had to do lots of shopping with my Mum. We went to the shop diary to get some food  grocery   . We also went to look for a present for my cousin’s birthday. I had to choose between a doll barbie and a soft toy  teddy bear. After that we went to the shop shopping center to buy some clothes, I got two new items neck less and a pair of shoes slippers. Because I had been so good, mum took me to the shop  countdown to buy a ice block treat. Lucky me!

The fantastic moon.

Have you ever wondered why the Moon can look different every night? There are eight key phases that the Moon goes through every 29.5 days, which is the same as one month.

The Moon orbit the Earth 29 days. As the Moon orbit the Earth it changes shape night. Some people think that every single friday or saturday it will be a full Moon. First there is New Lunar or Moon, then the waxing crescent, after that is the first quarter then a full Moon. After the full Moon is a waning gibbous. Then the last quarter. At the last part is the last waning crescent.

We see the same side of the Moon every day and night. You can see the outline of The new Moon just a little bit. Some people thinks we see different sides of the Moon but we actually see the same side of the Moon.

• I wrote about Saturn because it looks like an interesting planet and it is about 1,427 million km from the sun.
